THE MAGIC OF FEATHERS

Find a penny, pick it up and all day long you'll have good luck.

Find a feather, pick it up and all through the years you'll have good luck.

Pink feathers, margaret rustan, magic of feathers

I have a pink feather that came to me in 1980 while I was first living in Houston. Through the myriad of moves, from town to town and state to state, it has never been lost or tucked away. When I am especially sad, I look for this feather and hold it next to my heart.

Birds are considered Earth Angels and bring us messages and gifts from Spirit. They remind us of the lightness of life. They remind us that we can take flight in our hearts and imaginations. They can remind us of spiritual journeys to come.

If you are gifted with a feather, learn its meaning, meditate on it and keep it safe.

Here is a brief meaning of some of the feather colors:

Black:  magic, gateway to the unknown, growth, a warning of negative energy, protection, perhaps you are about to experience a spiritual initiation of some sort and it offers protection.

Blue:  brings inspiration, new psychic awareness, peace, strengthens your voice. Blue is related to the Throat Chakra and Archangel Michael (Michael is the Angel of protection, truth, integrity, courage, and strength).

Green:  related to the Heart Chakra and Archangel Raphael (the angel of healing). It is an indication of healing (I was taught, when doing healing, if in doubt which color to use, always use Green), prosperity, abundance and success.

Grey:  bestows peace. Since it is the result of mixing black and white it can represent confusion and it is telling you to take a deep breath and look at both sides of a situation.

Orange:  Related to the Sacral Chakra. It brings great energy and a will to create the new and beautiful. It has the energy of will-power and positivity and relates to physical aspects.

Pink:  speaks of unconditional love, compassion, harmony and inspiration. It relates to the Archangel Chamuel (the angel of peaceful relationships).

Purple:  relates to the Crown Chakra and Universal Consciousness. It brings a spiritual connection and new spiritual growth.

Red:  related to the 'Root Chakra'. It is vitality and energy of life. It also signifies good fortune, passion, emotions and courage.

White:  is a blessing in connection with the moon. It relates to the angels, protection, purification. It is ancestors telling you everything is well on the other side.

Yellow: relates to the Solar Plexus Chakra and pure gut instinct. . It is mental alertness and joy. Yellow is related to wisdom strongly connected to energy of the Sun. It is known as the happy color which bestows playfulness and mental alertness.
