RED
The Symbol of Life
Red, having the longest wave length, is the easiest for the human eye to perceive. It relates to the material aspects of man and often expresses opposite emotions or conditions.
Russians used red wool cloth around the necks of their children to ward off scarlet fever.
Early American settlers used red wool around the necks of their children to cure a sore throat. (This practice still exists in some areas of the United States.)
- We have red letter days.
- We paint the town red.
- Not a red cent to his name
- We “feel” in the red...(vitality)
- Americans associate red with:
- Christmas
- Valentine's Day
- Mother's Day
Anyone who lives in the vibration of the color red must be alert to the fact that undisciplined ambition could lead to the need (desire) to dominate others and/or situations.
The range of emotional responses for red-color people runs from being so overly-aggressive that they may commit blood shed to achieve a goal, to being unable or unwilling to cope with the challenges that life presents to the extent of becoming totally dependent upon those around them.
Red may, at times, see only the end objective it seeks. It will lose the fulfillment of the goal it seeks because it cannot see or deal with the detail required to reach the goal. They become so entranced with the anticipated result of the aims that they don't “see the trees for the forest”.
While Red is a physical color, it is also the color of the Life Force or God or Universal Love. It is up to us, as individuals, to work to bring our “red” into balance - the balance that will reflect a God or Universal Love to those around us.
The colors that have been assigned to the planets and days are subjective. There are a number of differing opinions set forth from various religions and philosophies about the colors that relate to them. It will be up to you, as you begin to work with the colors, to adopt the color(s) that resonate well for you.
